Make Your Own Taco Seasoning

We eat Mexican food quite often at our home. I’m not a huge fan of eating Mexican food at a Mexican restaurant, because I just don’t like it {with the exception of this little taqueria that makes THE best tacos, but I digress}. I discovered that taco shells are not too high in carbs and I can fill them with all good stuff inside so they’re now a staple in our home. I decided one day, out of necessity to make my own taco seasoning and it was delicious! I’m so happy that necessity is the mother of invention because our taco seasoning rocks.

Here’s how to make your own:

Use all equal parts of {1 teaspoon of all or 1/2 tablespoon of all, or 1 tablespoon of all…you get it}:

Cumin

Chili Powder

Garlic Powder

Paprika

Onion Powder

Extras {do these to your own taste}:

Red Pepper Flakes

Sea Salt

Fresh Ground Pepper

Oregano

It’s pretty darn easy to make, and you can do it in larger quantities and just store it in your cupboard, ready to use. I love that there aren’t any preservatives or hidden carbohydrates. Plus it tastes super awesome. You should try it!
