Quest Nutrition Bars

There is so much to say about Quest Nutrition Bars that I hardly know where to start. I first heard about these in February when I was looking through Instagram. They looked interesting so I decided to research them.


My findings were good. I learned that they are made from all natural ingredients and still only have on average about 5 grams of sugar per bar. They are high in protein with about 20 grams per bar and high in fiber too. I decided to check out my local GNC and give them a try. I was surprised by how many different flavors there were to choose from and immediately went for what I thought would be my favorite – lemon creme pie, chocolate chunk, cookies and cream and brownie {they were buy 3 get 1 free}. I was skeptical. I didn’t know how it was going to taste and if it would be good or taste like garbage.

I started with the lemon creme pie one. Just a taste. It was terrible. I thought surely, I’d just wasted my money on these things. But I didn’t give up. I decided that the others were still worth a try. Boy, am I glad that I gave the others a try! Though the lemon one didn’t quite suit my fancy, the brownie one blew me away. It was delicious! Then the chocolate chunk was even better and the cookies and cream even better than that!

There are 12 flavors to choose from, including: Cookies and Cream, Double Chocolate Chunk, White Chocolate Raspberry, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Brownie, Vanilla Almond Crunch, Peanut Butter Supreme, Apple Pie, Mixed Berry Bliss, Pb&J, Banana Nut Muffin, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cinnamon Roll, Coconut Cashew, Strawberry Cheesecake and Lemon Creme Pie

Since then, Quest Bars have become a staple in our cupboard. Though my husband enjoys the cookies and cream one, he’s not huge on protein bars, but I eat them like no body’s business. I’ve tried almost all of them and the chocolate ones remain my favorite. I’ve also discovered how much of them to eat and when. I like to eat a third of one in the morning and then sometimes another third in the afternoon. I used to eat half but found that it was just too much for me at once. Though if I know I’m going to be out of the house without food for a while {like traveling on an airplane} then I’ll go ahead and eat a whole bar and be fine for quite a few hours.  These bars have A LOT of  fiber so if you need some help in that area, these are great! Also, since they have such little sugar in them, I don’t get any blood spikes when I gobble them down.

I have also found that if you follow Quest on Facebook or Instagram you will see that they have tons of different recipes that you can make using Quest bars. It’s really, pretty fantastic.

I’ve discovered that one of my favorite treats is half of an apple pie quest bar, baked at 350 degrees for 6 minutes, topped with Breyers Sugar Free Vanilla Ice Cream  and some whipped cream. It’s delicious!
